And in regards to your question to Mogila, let me put it like this. If the only thing that can keep your kids in line is violence, you've already failed. If the only thing stopping them from stealing, bullying, vandalizing etc. is fear of repercussions, what will stop them whenever they think they can get away with it? Are you going to monitor them 24/7 till they die?
If people had respect and compassion for each other, you wouldn't need so much police, so many prisons, so much wasted time and efforts on trials and so much wasted life. You live in a culture where punishment is a form of entertainment, where you'd rather see people get hurt than help them improve, where people celebrate trial convictions and executions. I thought you, of all, would understand this, not because you're black, but because you hate the current system.
