I'll wait a bit until all my nude mods are going to be updated to support Dragonborn.

(by nude mods I'm talking about unofficial patches that actually fixes the many bugs of the game).

Well i enjoyed the damn game, until doing quests did not cause anything, better than oblivion but i was the same piece of shit that came out of the first cave after clearing several caves. Gimme a sense of epic journeys, something my fantasy mind did with 90's graphics in the days. Find a city in this game is "oh another quest hub this is tedious", gimme late 90's feel to stuff, either that or im too old for games, then again im still open minded and curious so i wont buy that im just old, and im not even close to be too old for pc games.

It's a bit of both. Not playing MMOs for a while helps.
However yay for another Skyrim DLC, landmass expansions are always fun.

I've yet to finish it. I always get way too involved in side-quests and modding and I never finish the main story in any of these Elder Scrolls games. Then I get bored and forget about it. Need to learn to focus.

This was disastrous in TES2: Daggerfall. I played that game for (many) years as a kid, sometimes threading on main quest territory by accident. Journals/quest journals where too cryptic for me to figure out wtf to do. Plus simple fighters guild quests could have you trapped in underground caverns for days looking for a "lock of nymph hair" or finding some moron in hiding. I usually stopped playing once I got lost in some of those kilometers of caverns... Daggerfall probably had the most expansive, easiest-to-get-lost-in dungeons of any game I've ever played - the map (and horrible 3D map) didn't help a bit. It wasn't years later that I figured out the recall/teleport spell thingy that let you set markers outside of dungeons and thus made the game 100x easier.

Now if they'd just finish up a stable XL Engine build I revisit it..

This new Dragonborn DLC sucks. Masked cultists pop out outta nowhere and attack me, saying I'm not the 'real' dragonborn or some shit, he also mentions he's working for some evil dude named Malaak; cause else I wouldn't know who to pursue. After 10 seconds all the cultists are dead, a big compass marker points to the 'leader' of the masked cultists who happens to have a detailed journal on his objectives and the fact they all got here from Solstheim. So I follow the new quest marker to some docks where the captain of some ship seems to be whining about cultists. He tells me that he'll never go back to Solstheim because the cultists are so badass and he lost his memory and yada yada. Three seconds later he decides to go anyways because I asked him.

Now the game bugs out and leaves my character in some kind of paralysed state, supposed-to-play-a-cinematic-event on the docks of Solstheim. After searching google for 30 mins and messing around with my mods I figure out I just have to wait a minute before the cinematic event begins.

I'm greeted by the second chancellor of the island, as chancellors seem to have nothing better to do than wait on ships. He talks some gibberish and updates my quest marker towards some rock 100m away. At the rock I find out from some random dude that the people on the island are mind-controlled by the Malaak dude who actually has been dead for thousands of years, so it couldn't be actually him right? (riight) The random dude does update my quest marker, making me walk at least a minute to the temple/shrine of Malaak where a new NPC awaits me to talk gibberish. I didn't really figure out what her problem was but she started bashing on freshly-spawned cultists and dissapeared in a dungeon below, so I followed.

The dungeon was yet another dull, zombie-and-arrow-trap infected piece of shit that reflected the other 2500 dungeons in Skyrim. I didn't bother.

I did read somewhere that Dragonborn was having some issues. I can't remember if they're related to what you've experienced or not. But -- shocker -- it's a Bethesda game with bugs. Give it a week. I'm sure the modding community will get it all sorted out in a quarter of the time it takes the developers.

Started playing... again. The great thing about this game is, even after 200+ hours, you can still stumble across new things.

Maybe I should give it another try sometime. It felt too much like a fairground the last time I played it.

use mods.

more specificly the civil war mod and dangerous dragons

the first makes it feel like there is actually a war going on (wandering around and hitting a field of battle with a bunch of npc's kicking the crap out of eachother)
the second makes dragons well .... dangerous.

My gripe is that everything is packed so close together. You can't walk 100 feet without walking into an adventure.
