I'm surprised this game hasn't been mentioned yet. I went to the store deciding between Uncharted and this one.. I opted to try Demon's Souls since I was in the mood for a good RPG. I played for probably 6 hours straight last night; this game is absolutely amazing. Addictive as hell, deep, challenging. Just plain awesome.. This is one of the best RPG's I have played since Oblivion, and I can't wait to play some more!

Yeah I saw you online listed as playing it last night.

It's a great game eh? I've tried out about 3 different style of characters so far.

I currently playing a pure magic character and another more rounded fighter.

Have you tried the multiplayer yet? I had my first invasion from a black phantom today. He/She lit the ground on fire and killed my level 31 character in one blow with it. Amazing.

Honestly I haven't gotten very far, I am just taking my time and enjoying exploring and leveling up and such. I haven't tired multiplyer (I didn't even know it had that). I am just using a brute force warrior type, which seems to be working pretty well! I am looking forward to trying some more classes though.. Talking about it makes me want to play more!

And sorry Puraaj :(  Is it scheduled to come out in europe?

I am still really enjoying this one.. But my only beef with it is that it's extremely complicated. When they say deep, they mean DEEP! There is so much to this game that I don't understand. You need to almost take a night class just to understand everything to this game! Spirit modes, world tendencies, complicated weapon stats that require math to figure out, I don't know what half the items do. But it's something I would love to work at and master.. Very cool game.

I apparently really suck at this game.. I am soul level 20ish and a warrior dude, and am getting my ass handed to me over and over!

One question: How / where do you learn magic? It would be nice to chuck some fireballs or learn some healing spells. I just beat the boss in 2-1 (spider) but everywhere else I go I am getting my ass kicked! Very challenging game!! I like it though, challenge is great.

There are 2 kinds of Magic. I use the darker one and the other is Faith magic. Faith Magic required you to be armed with a talisman and Magic Art required a catalyst.

Learn faith from the West side of the Nexus and learn magic from the East side of the Nexus. Lets call the statue you start at the north end of Nexus.

You need to have some kind of ranged attack and melee attack. You can't make it on melee alone. So learn to use the bow/crossbow or ranged magic attack.

Int. = Magic Points /Magic = magic memory and Faith = Faith Magic ("Good magic")

Sage Freke and later the witch Yuri (I think I spelled that right) will ask for your Demon souls for super powerful Magic...... on the same side those same Demon Souls can be used for super Melee weapons.

You have some serious choices ahead :) lol..... I bought the Deluxe version and Guide that came with it is invaluable for looking up references for items/weapons/Demon Souls/Colorless souls etc etc...

I'm still playing it. It's a crazy addictive game. It's a console game that's trying it's damndest to be a PC game and really succeeding on most accounts. Tough as hell, too, but seldom unfair. I like it a lot.

I'll have to add you guys to my PSN when I get the chance.

yea xD im already playing 3 diff chars :P

main char is a royalty low vit build with the rat ring and stuff
then 2 pvp chars a temple knight with halberd type weapons and a royalty with hig dex and DW katana (hiltless + 5 / sharp uchi +5)

Finally got around to getting this game, and Man I love it.
But, it's pretty hard and a bit confusing , I started off in the Boletarian Palace, killed Phalanx, went on to the Tower Knight (used ranged magic on him) and Nailed him as well, but it seems I can't progress further that path.

So what path would you recommend to progress through? I'm working my way past the The spider boss and kinda undecided on what kind of stats I should level as well, right Now I started with the Royal character and leveled ip Strenght to 20 and other supporting stats a bit as well, soul level 22 or so, but still a few enemies can blatantly kick my arse.
