That's what I'm trying to figure out. Are there any good console games? That's what I wanted to know in the first place. Yes I have lived under a rock for the last three generations of consoles. I really stopped giving a shit about consoles when they left 16 bit. and I have purposefully ignored all console info and console trailers since. I felt that consoles ruined my hobby, deep, complex gaming. And I have had this utter hate for all things console since.

Now I'm starting to feel left out/old... But so far I'm drawing a blank, everyone has all the current consoles, but noone seems to know why except the PS3 can play BR's.

Its the exclusives you should look into, Sony will probably have the most exclusive games for their consoles only, so you may want to research that yourself.

However, since Sony depend on their many exclusive titles for their console, I would recommend you look into the 360 since that has a wider variation of titles to choose from.
Usually I would name some titles by now but I have no idea of what is on PS3 or what would be the best console to choose from without being biased.

In my opinion, if you have certain titles in mind to play, then they're probably on the PS3, but if you just want to play a wide range and get back into the 'scene' then go for the 360.

consoles (especially xbox) are beginning to get exclusive titles (alan wake for example) and if not exclusive, then there are games that come out for the console ahead of the pc (red-dead-redemption). Anywayz, owning a console is a good investment as long as you mod it. Regardless if you pirate games or not, modding a console allows you to play other games and perform other actions with ease.

If I had to vote for a console, it would be the nintendo ds. Although technically not a console, it is the one platform that has the most unique games, its portable, and with a passcard can become a mobile media center.

But if you want a true 'console' go with an xbox360 because of its online play. Cross platform games tend to run better on the xbox360 because of the weird architecture of the ps3, though this will probably be less of a problem in future games. If you do mod the xbox360, be careful of getting caught because if caught, you'll be banned from online play for life.

Wow is this thread still alive?

I'm looking at a Wii soon... It seems to be the only console that actually has any good games that aren't available on the PC. Almost all games are multi platform, and most exclusives either suck horribly, or have similar games on the PC already. The Wii however has Mario Galaxy, New SMB, Metroid, Zelda and soon both Kirby and Sonic. Games that are actual console games and are actually good. Also, I won't need to buy a HD TV, a couch, and a house to keep it in if I get a Wii...

I have all three, and if you're a serious gamer you should too. there are phenomenal exclusive games for all of them, each have strengths, and if you dont like it you can always sell it after a month or two and make most of the money back. I prefer the 360 for gaming, but ps3 is a better media server and has a few good exclusives.

we're not going to sit here and "sell" you on a particular console, you cheap narrow-minded fuck. If you're so set in your ways then stick to PC, it's your loss. (Edit: i just realized this thread is over a year old and you still dont have one. lawl.)

if you're really interested in the games, go to Metacritic.com and read the reviews of the highest-rated exclusive games for each console. Or do a google search for "best ps3/260 games" and research the games yourself. If you are interested in playing those particular games, buy that console, if not, dont.
If you are interested in gaming from the comfort of your couch, and watching movies in divx, buy a console. if you always prefer to play at a computer with a mouse because you're so "1337" and you have to school those AI "n00bs" in a singleplayer game--and you just cant live without a mouse--then stick to PC.

It took me a couple weeks but i got used to console controllers and now i generally prefer them. Im currently playing Alpha Protocol on PC but only because it was faster to DL it and i wasnt sure if i would like it; i would rather play on console while relaxing on the couch.

ONly you can decide what's right for you. But remember at $299 for a ps3 and $199 for an xbox, this is a decision you must weigh heavily and debate for months, if not years. That $ amount is an irreplaceable fortune. So unless you want to risk wasting HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS on SILLY FUCKING GAMES, you should continue to hesitate, ruminate, and masturbate over the decision until your 400 pound girlfriend gives in and buys you one herself because she misses you and wants you to come out of hiding from your computer room and into the living room.

So I don't have $200 to blow on a console, being stuck with a minimum wage sucks. So I've read every meta critic score for every exclusive there is and even the games that get 11/10 look like ass to me. Why does it bother you so incredibly much if I asked, all that time ago, what to get? The fact that I still haven't got one is the same as back then, I haven't found any games that appeal to me. I asked then in case I had missed some games, maybe something that isn't on the top 10 at metacritic.
