Twitter is not that bad. It's heavy on the narcissism but it has its uses. I've met very interesting people there. I've gotten replies from famous people on topics I was curious about. I get updates on particular subjects much faster than anything and it's lightweight enough for any phone.

I'm sorry, but I have a hard time imagining that much of value can be expressed in less than 140 characters or whatever (arbitrary) limit there is.

Yes, you can post links and stuff - but that makes it nothing more than a glorified RSS reader.

I guess it's nice for the sort of people that only read the headlines.

It's a bit depressing that with the ease and variety of available communication a significant number of people seem to think those types of arbitrary limitations are necessary or useful.

Also, how much damage can 140 characters do. They're probably not discussing cutting edge scientific breakthroughs but Twitter has its moments; then again they very well can be. And wtf is wrong with RSS? You still on dial-up listening to tapes?
