Nothing is funny in itself, it's only funny to the beholder, hence the level of amusement is entirely down to how we perceive something. Toddlers will laugh at stuff you won't find funny, but maybe if you're high, you'll find it funny too.

Again, fun is 100% subjective and it is 100% down to how we feel about something, hence our state of mind is what determines how fun we think something is.
