Ira Isaacs: Porn Producer Gets 48 Months For Federal Obscenity

The man who made such classics as Mako's First Time Scat, Hollywood Scat Amateurs 7 and 10, and Japanese Doggie 3 Way has finally been brought to justice not for bad titles or just bad taste but for illicit obscenity.

That's right, in case you forgot, there is a line when it comes to porn. Starting under the administration of President George W. Bush, federal prosecutors said Ira Isaacs crossed that line. Back in March ...


... a jury couldn't decide, and Isaacs was off the hook, at least temporarily.

But the very next month he was slammed and convicted on all counts filed in a federal indictment in 2011 (which is decidedly past Bush's expiration date).

Today the U.S. Attorney's Office announced his sentence: 48 months in prison, three years of supervised release and a $10,000 fine.

Isaacs, 6`, has defended his work as a product of the first amendment, writing this last year:

I believe in the 1st amendment-and America's promise of freedom of Speech and its hypocrisy of limiting our freedom of speech under the excuse of obscenity.

The case is being prosecuted by Trial Attorney Michael W. Grant and Deputy Chief Damon King of the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, with the assistance of Trial Attorney Jeannette Gunderson of the Criminal Division’s Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Section. The investigation was conducted by the FBI and Los Angeles Police Department.
